This book by the recently deceased author Karina Wilhelmi expresses her passion for the sea that she had from when she was a child, and describes her travel experiences aboard the great Polish sailing ship Pogoria; these experiences allowed her to be able to tell the wonders of the places she visited in different parts of the world.

Thanks to her great journalistic skills, during her career with the Polish state television, she has received many important awards and prizes for her news stories in the cultural and social spheres, including the award she should have received by the end of 2021 at the National Institute of Remembrance in Warsaw for the best historical news story on the Katyn tragedy, during which thousands of Polish army officers were slaughtered by the Russian army.

The regret remains that she was not able to receive this prestigious award, as well as the regret that she will not be able to see the publication of her first book.

To all those who love the sea, she bequeaths her passion; to all readers, her spontaneity and inventiveness, which have enabled her to create the short stories included as an appendix to this book.
